What is the role?
A key part of our business and retail strategy is to execute our brand plans brilliantly, connecting our brand positioning into breakthrough, effective trade plans in customer partners. The end goal is to drive our brand awareness up and improve on our conversion to purchase in store and online
With our business growing, so have the requirements to drive RoS through our retail partnership plans & media. Our customer agreements are now unrecognisable in their scope versus 18 months ago. We now have extended our distribution to Holland & Barrett, Tesco, Ocado, Wholefoods, Healf, International partners and with more coming onboard soon
As we continue our fast growth trajectory, ensuring we have a clear connection between the brand strategy, away from home marketing efforts and instore/ retail media execution is crucial for brand consistency and shopper marketing effectiveness.
The role requires strategic thinking on our direction and excellent execution.
This is a new role in H&G, with significant scope for the right person to own and lead an agenda which has the potential to have a transformative effect on brand and retail metrics. This is a challenging role, requiring flexibility, drive, energy, collaborative and strategic abilities but with the opportunity for the right person to create a legacy
Key roles, responsibilities and deliverables of the role
Developing a coherent retail, online & wholesale shopper strategy that cuts through and maximises ROI.
Collaborate with H&G brand team to create and lead the execution of shopper marketing campaigns that communicate our brand positioning, to drive awareness and conversion at shelf online and instore
Implementing the annual trade marketing strategy across key retail accounts (e.g., Ocado, Holland & Barrett, Tesco, Healf, Wholesale & International) Plus, new customers as they come onboard
Deliver standout in-store and online visibility, punching above our weight in the categories we operate to create brand fame
Partner with commercial and brand teams to create sell-in materials and be additive to joint business plans in retailers
Build and maintain close working relationships with retailer marketing teams, build and develop external partnerships with like-minded brands in retail. Connecting end user/ OOH partnerships in-to retail, increasing brand awareness
Track, analyse and report on the performance of trade activations to optimise future strategy and deliver ROI
Manage the shopper marketing budget, as agreed with the H&G Sales Director.
Essential
Experience of having actively worked in partnership with Major Grocery retail customers, in a trade marketing capacity
A positive, challenging and active mind. Not afraid to question conventional thinking
Creative ability, possessing and ability to think differently to achieve impact
Leadership capabilities – this is more about attitude than experience. Possessing a natural desire to own and lead, no matter what the task
